DIN 1.2714 / 55NiCrMoV7 Steel is a low-alloy hot work tool steel. It has good toughness,strength and wear resistance. Due to the molybdenum in the 1.2714 steel, it is not sensitive to temper brittleness. 55NiCrMoV7 has good hardenability and the hardness of the parts is almost the same.

Quenched and Tempered (+QT) of W-Nr 1.2714 Steel
1. Heat din 1.2714 steel slowly to 830-860°C;
2. Soak at this temperature then quench in oil;
3. Temper as soon as 55NiCrMoV7 steel reach room temperature (20°C);
4. Heat uniformly to the suitable temperature of 550°C;
5. Withdraw the material from the furnace and cool in the air.
